If you're planning to claim CITB funding, now’s the time to act. Several key changes are coming into effect over the next few months that could reduce the amount of funding your business can access.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s changing - and how to make the most of your grants before the end of 2025.
From 1 January 2026, CITB will reduce the enhanced grant rates for Management and Supervisor qualifications under the Short Qualification Grant.
Here’s how the grant rates compare:
Qualification | Achieved up to Dec 2025 | Achieved from Jan 2026 |
Management qualifications (NVQs 6-7) | *£1,500 | £600 |
Supervision qualifications (NVQs 3-4) | *£1,250 | £600 |

*Important: To receive the enhanced £1,500 or £1,250 grant, the qualification must be achieved by 31 December 2025, and must be the first of that type the individual has completed.
Another major update: the CITB Skills & Training Fund will close on 30 September 2025.
This fund currently supports small to medium-sized construction businesses with up to £25,000 in training support. After this date, it will no longer be available.
Last day to apply: 30 September 2025
In place of the Skills & Training Fund, the CITB Employer Network will become the singular support system designed to give employers more flexible, localised access to funding and training decisions.
As long as you are registered with CITB, up to date with your levy and have an Employer Network in your area you can access & benefit from this service.
