Our Dust Management course for the Construction Industry is for anyone who has functional responsibility for controlling dust risks on a construction site, such as site Supervisors, Managers and Directors. It provides learners with the knowledge to identify and control common dust hazards in order to prevent workplace ill health and prevent unwanted HSE sanctions.
According to the HSE, a construction worker is currently 100 times more likely to die from an occupational disease than an accident at work, of which a large proportion of these are caused by workplace dust hazards.
The identification, control and general management of dust in the workplace has never been more prevalent and can be costly to both your employee’s health and your business. However, there is still a lack of thorough understanding and legal compliance across the industry. An industry first, this course has been designed to bridge the gap between knowledge, understanding and legal requirements to better prepare sites to implement a fit for purpose dust management program and be able to confidently converse this vital information to the workforce to educate and protect them from unwanted health issues.
The aim of this course is to provide staff with sufficient knowledge to manage dust risks in the workplace.
In order to ensure the interaction between the learners and the tutor is spread evenly and effectively, the maximum number of learners allowed on a course is ten.
Continual assessor observation and written assessment.
Upon successful completion learners will be issued with an Essential Site Skills Dust Management - Construction certificate valid for 3 years.
