The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working with People with Mental Health Needs is eligible for European Social Funding and is for learners working, or about to work in the health and social care sector who need an understanding of how to support those with mental health needs.

NCFE CACHE Working with People with Mental Health Needs Course Aim

This qualification is designed for a wide range of learners who wish to understand the approaches to care and support of those with mental health problems.

This qualification aims to raise awareness of:

  1. the role of the mental health worker
  2. the process and approaches involved in the care and
  3. support of those who experience mental ill-health

NCFE CACHE Working with People with Mental Health Needs Course Objectives

The objective of this qualification is to give learners working, or intending to work in a health or social care context, an understanding of approaches to supporting those with mental health needs. It will also enable learners to progress to other qualifications in health care and social care.

Course Units

  1. Understand the role of the mental health worker
  2. Mental health and mental health issues
  3. Understand duty of care in adult health and social care
  4. Approaches to care and management in mental health
  5. Understanding change and support in relation to mental health

To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working with People with Mental Health Needs, learners are required to successfully complete the 5 mandatory units.

Assessment involves a blended delivery approach - This is a mixture of face-to-face and remote sessions with a qualified health and social care assessor.

Delegates will be awarded the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working with People with Mental Health Needs.
