The QA Level 2 Award in Working at Height (RQF) is ideal for those who work, or are aspiring to work in environments that involve safe working at height, such as building and construction workers, agricultural workers, factory and warehouse workers, forestry workers and more.
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification has been specifically designed to provide Learners with a greater awareness in the use of ladders, step ladders, harnesses and a variety of other equipment that is used when working at height.
During this 3 hour course, Learners will develop a basic awareness of working at height, focusing on key principles such as: safety considerations, legal obligations, hierarchy of control measures, reporting procedures for defective equipment and much more.
The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by raising awareness in the use of ladders, step ladders, harnesses, and a variety other equipment/principles that are used for working at height. Learners will focus on the safety considerations, legal obligations, hierarchy of control measures and reporting procedures for defective equipment.
The course will develop learner’s understanding of:
Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
In order to ensure the interaction between the learners and the tutor is spread evenly and effectively, and to ensure the courses are fully delivered in accordance with the Scheme rules, the maximum number of learners allowed on a course is sixteen.
Theory assessment/multiple choice question paper.
The maximum time allowed is 25 minutes.
The minimum mark is 10 out of 15 to be considered for an overall ‘Pass’.
Successful Learners will receive a QA Level 2 Award in Working at Height (RQF) certificate.
This qualification forms part of the QA Health and Safety suite of qualifications. The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of good practice outlined by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). This qualification develops Learners’ basic awareness of working at height. It includes understanding the importance of equipment and how to make sure the working environment is safe when working at height.
