NVQ Information
The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Floorcovering Occupations is a work-based qualification for individuals installing timber-based floorcoverings within the construction industry.
To undertake this qualification, you must be employed in a relevant floorcovering role, as you will need to demonstrate your skills, knowledge and occupational competence in a real workplace environment.
The qualification recognises your ability to assess and prepare surfaces, fit underlays, set out work areas, install timber-based floorcoverings and organise work activities safely and effectively.

On completion of your Level 3 NVQ, and after passing the relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test within the previous two years, you may be eligible to apply for the Gold CSCS Skilled Worker Card.
The Gold Skilled Worker Card is valid for five years and demonstrates that you have achieved a construction-related qualification at Level 3. Eligibility remains subject to current CSCS requirements for your occupation.

Mandatory units required: 11
To achieve this qualification, you must successfully complete all 11 mandatory units. Two additional Level 4 units are also available, although these do not count towards achieving the qualification.
