NVQ Information
The NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety qualification structure below specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification, for those working as a health and safety practitioner, in a position of responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of a team or organisation. The qualification is generic and appropriate for individuals working in a range of sectors.
This qualification is accredited by The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) - the world’s leading body for health and safety professionals. Learners will be eligible to enrol with IOSH and IOSH Student membership for the duration of their studies and, on successful completion, will be eligible for Associate or Technical membership (A/T) with IOSH. As IOSH is the only organisation in the world that offers Chartered membership to health and safety practitioners, this can help members achieve the highest professional standards and gain international recognition.
On completion of your NVQ qualification, along with passing the relevant CITB HS&E test you will be able to apply for the CSCS Supervisory Card.

To achieve the Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, learners must achieve a total of 31 credits. Learners will need to obtain a total of 23 credits from the mandatory units (301-305) and a minimum of 8 credits from the optional units (306-309).
