Our Abrasive Wheels Awareness course provides learners with an understanding of the hazards associated with abrasive wheels, the precautions required before use and the principles of safe wheel selection, fitting and operation.
This course is suitable for anyone who uses, changes, supervises or manages work involving abrasive wheels, including:
No previous abrasive wheels qualification is required.
The course provides learners with the knowledge needed to recognise abrasive wheel hazards, select suitable equipment and understand the checks and precautions required before and during use.
The course includes practical safe set-up, but does not include live cutting or grinding.

Short theory test on types of Abrasive Wheels, identification and inspection Inspect, set up and break down of an angle grinder with an Abrasive Wheel.
Certification
Upon successful completion learners will be issued with an Essential Site Skills Abrasive Wheels Awareness digital PDF certificate valid for 3 years.
