This unit aims to develop knowledge of the importance of energy efficiency, how to monitor energy consumption and reduce heat loss from a building and how to monitor fuel consumption in a vehicle. Learners will understand energy efficiency ratings of electrical equipment and where to find information about saving energy.
This qualification offers a comprehensive understanding of energy efficiency and its impact on current energy consumption levels. Learners will define "energy efficiency," recognise its importance, and explore the implications of maintaining or increasing current energy consumption levels. They'll also monitor energy consumption in buildings, compare energy usage between different dwellings, analyse driving styles' effect on fuel consumption, assess energy efficiency ratings for electrical equipment, understand heat loss reduction in buildings, and learn about organisations offering energy-saving advice and incentive schemes.
