NVQ Information
The Cranes and Specialist Lifting NVQ Diploma qualification structure below specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification, to confirm competence in preparing and operating cranes or specialist lifting equipment within the construction industry.
The CPCS Red Trained Operator card is valid for 2 years, during which time you are required to undertake the relevant plant NVQ to upgrade to the Blue Competent Operator Card. On completion of your NVQ qualification, along with passing the relevant CPCS tests and the CITB HS&E test (within the last 2 years), you will be able to apply for the Blue CPCS card.
Minimum Credit Value: 55

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 55 credits need to be attained. This comprises the 2 mandatory units plus 1 unit from the optional unit group.
