NVQ Information

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Fenestration Installation is a nationally recognised, work-based qualification for experienced individuals installing windows, doors, conservatories or curtain walling within the glazing and fenestration sector.

This Fenestration Installation NVQ confirms advanced occupational competence on site and demonstrates the ability to carry out installations with complex requirements, identify and rectify technical problems, and assess working methods to improve performance. Learners may also take on technical or supervisory responsibilities, particularly when supporting less experienced installers.

The qualification structure below outlines the combination of mandatory and optional units that must be achieved to be awarded the Level 3 NVQ in Fenestration Installation.

As this is a work-based NVQ, learners must be currently employed in a relevant glazing or fenestration role, carrying out or overseeing installation activities, to enrol and complete the qualification.

The Gold CSCS Q-Card recognises advanced skills or supervisory responsibilities. It is available to individuals working in advanced craft or supervisory roles who hold a relevant Level 3 NVQ in fenestration installation. This card demonstrates a higher level of skill, knowledge and responsibility within the construction industry.

Minimum Credit Value: 38

Candidates should achieve all 4 mandatory units, plus a minimum of 9 credits from optional units Group B, a minimum of 4 credits from Group C, a minimum of 4 credits from Group D and a minimum of 3 credits from Group E. This makes the minimum credit value of the qualification 38 credits.
