Course Information
This course is intended for CISRS Scaffold card holders or for inspection card renewals, and also for those responsible for inspecting and checking basic scaffolds for safe use, signing certificates and registers in accordance with statutory regulations.
You should have awareness and experience of scaffolding structures, coming from time spent in your individual industry sector. You’ll be required to confirm this experience by producing a CV with an employer endorsement, contactable references and/or certificates.
At the end of the course you'll gain a CISRS Scaffolding Inspection Training Scheme (SITS) certificate and can apply for a CISRS inspection card.
This SITS (Scaffold Inspection Training Scheme) course is intended for persons responsible for inspecting and checking scaffolds for safe use and for signing certificates and registers in accordance with statutory regulations. The overall aim is to develop trainees with an understanding of scaffold components, forms of construction and inspection procedures of basic access scaffolds and to comply with current legislation and codes of practice.

The delegate holds one of these current cards:
The delegate has worked in one of the following job roles for a minimum of two years. Evidence must be provided via the Delegate Entry Check Form (supplied upon booking) and endorsed by their employer to confirm suitable awareness of scaffold structures:
The delegate has previously attended a non-CISRS Inspection/Awareness course at least two years ago.
Failure to supply any of the above will result in the delegate being refused entry to the course, with no refunds given.
In order to ensure the interaction between the learners and the tutor is spread evenly and effectively, the maximum number of learners allowed on a course is twelve.

For those not looking to achieve a CISRS Scaffolder Inspection card but have a requirement to inspect basic Scaffolding as part of a Safe System of Work or Supervisory responsibility, ESS also offer a 1, or 2 day, Basic Scaffold Inspection Awareness course giving you the necessary training, skills and knowledge to undertake inspections on site.
