Course Information

The City & Guilds Medium Risk Entrant and Entry Controller for Confined Spaces Refresher (6160-09) is designed for individuals who already hold the relevant City & Guilds qualification and need to renew their competence to continue working safely in medium risk confined spaces.

This refresher course reinforces the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely enter and control work within confined spaces where there is a realistic risk of hazardous conditions.

Training is delivered at City & Guilds approved training centres, using purpose-built confined space training facilities. Delegates will take part in practical exercises that simulate realistic confined space environments, including safe entry procedures, emergency escape techniques and the use of specialist equipment such as breathing apparatus and retrieval systems.

The course ensures that individuals maintain a current understanding of safe systems of work, risk control measures and the procedures required when operating in medium risk confined spaces.

Course Pre-Requisites

To attend this refresher course, delegates must:

  • Hold a current or recently expired City & Guilds Medium Risk Confined Space qualification, covering entrant and entry controller responsibilities.
  • Be physically and medically fit to undertake practical confined space exercises.
  • Be capable of safely entering and exiting restricted environments and using specialist equipment.
  • Be able to read, understand and communicate effectively in English for both training and assessment purposes.

Due to the physical nature of confined space work and equipment requirements, the recommended maximum weight limit is 20 stone.

Delegates may also be required to complete a medical or fitness declaration prior to training.

The refresher course includes both theory review and practical reassessment, covering key aspects of safe confined space working:

Course Benefits
