We are looking for a Business Development Manager preferably with a Construction related background to promote a variety of construction and work related health & safety courses, NVQ qualifications and funding opportunities.  Full training and support will be given to develop into the role.

The role will require you to generate new business opportunities through establishing contracts with new and existing client companies to achieve the business development targets.

A willingness to spend periods away from home with associated travel (UK only) may be required.

CPCS Trainer/Tester Lifting Operations

Essential Site Skills is seeking to appoint a CPCS Trainer/Tester for an exciting new centre in Chesterfield. You must be hard working, possess great organisational skills with demonstrable experience within CPCS Lifting Operations.

Requirements for the role:

  • Proven experience working within the Construction Plant Competence Scheme as a trainer / Tester
  • Knowledge of CPCS/ NPORS processes and procedures
  • Trainer and tester in all, or the majority of the following categories:
    • Mobile Crane (A60)
    • Appointed Person – Lifting Operations (A61)
    • Lift Supervisor (A62)
    • Overhead Crane (A64)
    • Compact Crane (A66)
    • Tower Crane Ped Operated (A04C)
  • CPCS tester/trainer in other categories would be an advantage but not essential
  • LOLER/LEER experienced desirable

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Support the centre manager including procedures and scheme spec support
  • Deliver CPCS lifting categories in line with specification and assessment criteria, including theoretical elements
  • Ensure Lifting equipment is serviceable, maintained and oversee the Health and Safety aspects that may be relevant day to day
  • Ensure the centre is compliant at all times and in line with all/any Awarding Body requirements
  • Ensure the correct and timely submission of CPCS paperwork and certification processes are carried out
  • Support the centre manager with internal and third party audits as required
  • Submit and or record and archive testing paperwork with database updates. Training on CITB ATO processes will be provided
  • Develop risk assessments for all lifting operations
  • Manage equipment and loads associated with lifting
  • Assist forecasting CPCS lifting courses and marketing

CPCS Centre Manager & Trainer/Tester

Essential Site Skills is seeking to appoint a CPCS Centre Manager & Trainer/Tester for an exciting new centre in Chesterfield. We are looking for an experienced, proactive and driven person of whom would relish the chance to build and drive this exciting project from its inception. You must be hard working, a strong leader with an ability to communicate at all levels with the relevant experience to undertake such a challenging but hugely rewarding position. The manager will take charge of the CPCS centre with the ability to train and test across various CPCS categories.

Essential requirements:

  • Experienced training/tester, with a proven managerial background in the training sector
  • Proven experience working within the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (Manager/Supervisor/Trainer/Tester), including lifting (AP)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience working in the wider construction/lifting operations industry
  • Recognised instructional qualification (e.g. CPCS Tester)

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Assist in the development of the CPCS centre including procedures and scheme spec support
  • Plan and manage all training activities, both for customers and staff
  • Plant and course planning and forecasting
  • Manage staff, including taking the lead on appointing suitably qualified freelance trainers/testers

Client Sales Coordinator

Business Admin Apprentice

Location: Nottingham

Contract Type: Full Time (PAYE)

Salary: £14k per annum

We are looking for a Business Admin Apprentice to offer support to our Commercial Training Team, providing efficient and professional administrative support to the Commercial Training Manager, assisting in daily office needs and managing the departments general administrative duties.

Responsibilities will include answering and directing incoming phone calls, dealing and responding to certificate enquiries, processing NVQ and training course certificates, assisting with training course enquiries through the booking process, greeting and assisting visitors to the office, processing incoming and outgoing post, monitoring stationary and course materials, and replenishing when necessary, ensure tutor center files are kept up to date with current documentation prior to any training being delivered (i.e. in-date Professional Indemnity / Public Liability Insurance, copies of training certificates, cards and accreditation’s etc).

The above duties are only a brief outline, as the role can be quite varied due to the nature of the industry and the roles within the business. As the individuals progress through their qualifications and increase their industry knowledge there will be future opportunities for progression within a highly driven business that has a reputation for quality.

As this is an apprentice role we will support you fully in your development, including support through qualifications such as Level 2 NVQ in Business and Administration, Level 2 Certificate in IAG etc.
